Configure Aternity's Basic and Advanced Settings

Use the Settings page to customize Aternity according to your requirements. Select Switch to > Basic Settings or Advanced Settings on the top right corner of the page.

Configure Aternity settings

Customize and configure the following settings:

Field Description
Location Mapping (legacy)

The legacy method for location mapping assigns a location from a device attribute, like its subnet, which changes whenever the device connects from a different location. This method requires two separate mappings: first from an attribute (like a subnet) to a location name, then a separate mapping from each location name to its city, state, country, region and coordinates.

See Configure Business Locations with a Device Attribute (Legacy Location Mapping).

Agent Initial State

This setting controls the initial state of Agent for End User Devicess in the system, to control whether new devices automatically start reporting to the system or if they need manual approval.

See Set the Default State of an Agent.

Email Server

Configure the connection of your Aternity on-premise to your enterprise email server, as the route to send automatic email notifications.

See Integrate an Email Server to Aternity,

Platform and Configuration Database

Directory Service

You can connect Aternity to your Microsoft Active Directory (AD), so that usernames defined in the AD can also be usernames to sign in to Aternity. Their usernames and passwords are managed in the AD only.

You can integrate Aternity with your ticketing system (SNMP trap manager) to route all incident alerts or Aternity system errors (like database connectivity issues), to display them centrally on your SNMP management system, alongside alerts from other applications.

See Configure Aternity with a Ticketing System (SNMP Trap Manager).
