Add Multi-Tenant Accounts for Service Providers (deprecated)

As a service provider you can use Aternity on-premise to offer flexible performance monitoring services to multiple customers (tenants).

In multi-tenant mode, one customer cannot see the performance details of any other.

Procedure

  1. Step 1 Open a browser and sign in to Aternity.
  2. Step 2 Select the Gear Icon > Settings > Advanced Settings > account > multi_tenant.

  3. Step 3 Sign out and sign back in again.

  4. Step 4 Select the Gear Icon > Manage Account Activities.

  5. Step 5 Select Create Account to add an account for each tenant.

    Field Description
    ID

    Displays an internal ID. Not for use.

    Account Key

    Displays the unique account ID for each tenant.

    Account Name

    Displays the name of the tenant. Change the name by selecting the row's context menu on the right > Edit.

    Type

    Displays the type of account. For service providers (SP) who have access to this page, you can be:

    • Managed Service Provider indicates this is an SP account which can hold several tenants.

    • Managed Service Customer indicates this account is a customer of a SP, and with a link to that SP.

    License Type

    Displays the type of license:

    • Evaluation licenses expire after three months, intended for customers wishing to evaluate the features of Aternity.

    • Essentials licenses are not available for use.

    • Enterprise licenses are standard for tenants, with expiration dates according to the contract and payment of the tenant.

    • Hosting licenses are not available for use.

    Total Licenses

    Displays the total number of licenses available to that account, whether in use or not.

    Deployment Limit

    Displays the maximum number of licenses allowed for each account.

    You can set this limit by selecting the row's context menu on the right > Manage Licensing Provision > Edit Limits.

    Licenses in Use

    Displays the number of licenses which devices currently occupy (report to Aternity) from each account. Use this to determine whether you need more licenses for that account.

    Rejected (Last 24 Hours)

    Displays number of devices which attempted to connect to Aternity but were unsuccessful because there were insufficient licenses for that device type.

    SAML

    Displays the subdomain access for users who sign in to Aternity via SSO. For example, tenant.aternity.serviceprovider.com.

    Expiration

    Displays the latest expiration date of all the licenses for this account.

    Logins Displays the number of times that a user has signed in to Aternity from that account.
  6. Step 6 To edit an account's settings, select the the row's context menu on the right > Edit or any of the other options.

    Edit

    Select to edit the account name, and to add an email address for incident alerts. For more than one address, separate them with a semicolon.

    Manage Users

    Select to add, edit or remove users for this account, as described in View the Users of Aternity.

    Manage Licenses

    Select to add or remove licenses which the tenant purchased. To change the number of devices or update a license's expiration date, select the serial number of the license.

    Manage Integrations

    For each account: You can integrate Aternity with other products in the SteelCentral Suite, and to several third party enterprise systems to enable or enhance some features.

    Disable

    Select to disable all user access by members of that tenant.
