Integrate with NetProfiler to Troubleshoot a Device's Network Connections

Troubleshoot slow network times by viewing a device's network connections and traffic in NetProfiler. See the traffic flow in this area of the network, or perhaps other subnets which may clog access to a shared network component.

For example, if a device's network access is slow, link to NetProfiler to check this area of the network to determine bandwidth and usage in this subnet, or perhaps other subnets whose demands may impact the response time of a shared server.

You can access the link to NetProfiler in Aternity when you view any dashboard which is dedicated to a single device, like Troubleshoot Device or User Experience.

Before you begin

Aternity SaaS can link to any recent version of NetProfiler.

To integrate links from NetProfiler into Aternity, you need version 10.10, 10.11 or 10.12 of NetProfiler, and the latest Aternity SaaS version.


  1. Step 1 Open a browser and sign in to Aternity.
  2. Step 2 Access the Gear Icon > Integration Settings > NetProfilerâ„¢ to configure Aternity with the address of your NetProfiler.

    Enter the URL of your NetProfiler web user interface.

  3. Step 3 To add a link to Aternity from NetProfiler, open NetProfiler and select Configuration > Riverbed Links > Aternity.

    Select to add the Aternity URL.


    Enter the URL for accessing Aternity, like


    Enter the domain name WITHOUT the protocol (no https://). For example, NetProfiler only supports secured HTTPS connections.

    Account ID

    Enter the account ID for your Aternity. You can find this in the URL when you access Aternity, where the last few characters are ?BACCT=21, where the value (in this example 21) is your account ID.

  4. Step 4 In Aternity, from any dashboard about a single monitored device, select the quick jump menu and select View in NetProfiler.

    Alternatively, in the User Experience dashboard, drill-down on a single activity to NetProfiler to troubleshoot network flow around that device at that time.
