Configure Your Aternity Account

As Administrator of Aternity in your organization, you can configure Aternity account to reflect the needs of your organization.
Determine your account settings

Procedure

  1. Step 1 Open a browser and sign in to Aternity.
  2. Step 2 Hover over the panel, click the gear icon , and select My Account.
  3. Step 3 In the General tab, configure:
    Field Description
    Branding and Display

(Optional) Upload a logo to replace the logo of Aternity.

    Tip

The logo size should be up to 232x45 pixels.

    Timezone

Select the timezone for your account.

In case the local timezone is not defined, Aternity displays data on dashboards in the timezone of the Aternity Management Server.

Aternity supports only whole hours' time zones, but does not support half hour and 45-minute time zones (like UTC + 05:30) so that you cannot set them as your local timezone for your account.

Note that this setting refers only for displaying data on dashboards. In other screens, like Users administrative page, the time is always the local browser time.

    Categories in the main menu
Add main menu categories where users can save dashboards. Learn more.
    Tip

The Main Menu does not show empty categories. Only if you saved a dashboard in that new category, the category appears in the menu.

    Account Industry and company size

Select your industry and the amount of employees in your organization..

Now you can see in the Benchmark dashboard the level of device health and user experience in your organization comparing to other companies in this industry.

  4. Step 4 In the Security & Privacy tab, configure:
    Field Description
    Restrict Network Access to Aternity

Access restrictions enable you to control network access to your account. Enter the subnets that will be allowed to access Aternity. Remember to use only public IPv4 subnets.

Every time you update the list of subnets in the My Account screen, remember that this list overwrites the current list.

    Schedule email subscriptions

Determine subscription options of the saved dashboards. Allow dashboard subscription to any email address or limit dashboard subscriptions to account users only. Learn more.

    Personally Identifiable Information (PII)

Determine what Personally Identifiable Information to encrypt and what to keep visible. Learn more.

Aternity comes with a default predefined encryption key out of the box. Administrative users assigned the View Personally Identifiable Information role can change the out of the box key and enter the desired encryption key. Note that once you change the key, you cannot go back to the default one. But you can change the current key again to something else and save the changes.

    Tip

The encryption key should include only hexadecimal characters (0-9,a-f/A-F) and can be up to 32 characters long.

  5. Step 5 In the Monitoring tab, configure:
    Field Description
    Incidents emails

Enter the default email address for automatic email notifications of incident alerts.

    Learn more about incidents.

For each activity, you can manually add a different email to send alert to when editing the activity (learn more).

  6. Step 6 Click Save to keep the changes and exit.
In the right pane, there are quick links to the same menus that you can find in the Settings menu on the top bar.
    Tip

You can also send email to Aternity SaaS Administration and ask to configure your account to allow access only from specific IPv4 subnets.
