Add or Configure a Custom Role for Aternity Users

You can define custom roles in Aternity on-premise, to supplement the native default roles which ship with the system. A role is a set of abilities and actions (known as privileges) which a user can perform in Aternity. You can assign several roles to a user or group of users, to allow them to perform those actions.

For example, you can create a role for those who can only maintain the list of managed applications in the system, but are not allowed to view or edit anything else, which would correspond to this kind of job in your organization.

The system comes with a set of default roles which group together a typical job title with its common abilities in the system.
