Table of contents Add or Configure a Custom Role for Aternity Users You can define custom roles in Aternity on-premise, to supplement the native default roles which ship with the system. A role is a set of abilities and actions (known as privileges) which a user can perform in Aternity. You can assign several roles to a user or group of users, to allow them to perform those actions. For example, you can create a role for those who can only maintain the list of managed applications in the system, but are not allowed to view or edit anything else, which would correspond to this kind of job in your organization. The system comes with a set of default roles which group together a typical job title with its common abilities in the system. ProcedureStep 1 Open a browser and log in to Aternity. Step 2 Select the Gear Icon > Roles. View the current list of custom roles Step 3 To create a new custom role, select + Add Role. Select the privileges allowed for this role. Define the privileges allowed by users with this role Field Description Access Management Manage users enables you to view and edit users or user groups in the Gear Icon > Users window.
