Table of contents ~End Point Groups~ End Point Groups can be used in the following: Monitor assignments - control what groups get certain monitors Performance Navigator - allows filtering by group Detection - control detection settings for different LOBs and populations End Point Groups can be created based on any End Point attribute, including: User Attributes (User Name, User Domain) Active Directory (Department, Office) Network Attributes (IP Address, Subnet, DNS) Desktop Software Attributes (Hostname, OS Service Pack, Installed Applications) Desktop Hardware Attributes (CPU Speed, Memory, Model) Other Attributes (Location, Agent Version) Note: Installed Applications have an AND/OR option for the definition criteria. There is an additional group called, Group Set. The Group Set is comprised of Included Groups and Excluded Groups. An Excluded Group is more powerful than an Included Group. A list of Included or Excluded Groups can be viewed from the tree on the left. To view the an Included or Excluded group definition, select the appropriate group from the tree and the settings display on the right. Groups Settings Screen Use the Groups Settings screen to view a list of monitors and activities where a group is included or excluded. You can also create a new group in this screen. The actual configuration of group assignments is done in the Monitors tab for each monitor and activity. Refer to Group Assignment for more information. Creating a New End Point Group To create a new End Point group, do the following: In the Console, click End Points > Groups. Click the Plus sign under Groups Settings. Select the Group Type (Group or Group Set). Enter the Group Name for the End Point Group. Click Create. Add the desired attributes. Click Apply. Note: If a Console user is modifying the configuration, this screen becomes locked to prevent other users from concurrently modifying the same configuration.
