Uninstall Agent for Windows

You can easily remove the Agent for End User Devices from a PC or Mac, or remove it remotely from a large number of devices.

Tip

When you update your Agent, you can simply overwrite the older one, with no need to uninstall.

Procedure

  1. Step 1 To remove the Agent for End User Devices from a single PC, uninstall like any other application.

Go to the Windows Control Panel > Apps & Features or Programs and Features. Search for Aternity and verify it displays the Agent for End User Devices with the correct version number.

    Select Uninstall to remove it.

Find then remove the Agent for End User Devices from Windows
  2. Step 2 (Windows) To remove the Agent from multiple PCs, run Aternity_Agent_xx_Install-Uninstall.bat which you downloaded alongside the command line setup program.

Distribute this batch file in the same way you ran the mass-deploy command line setup, to remove the Agent from a list of devices.

  3. Step 3 (Macs) To uninstall Aternity Agent for Mac, run the following command in the Terminal window:
    ~/Library/Aternity/Agent/bin/uninstall.sh

Use this shell script in your distribution system to remove the Agent from multiple Mac computers.

  4. Step 4 To uninstall the Aternity Extension for Chrome:
    • (Agent 9.2.x or later) If the Agent setup automatically added the Aternity Extension for Chrome, the uninstall automatically removes it.

    • (Agent 9.0.x or 9.1.x) If you deployed the Aternity Extension for Chrome manually, you must remove it manually, just like a standard Chrome plugin.

    • On an Apple Mac, to remove the Aternity Extension for Chrome, run the following command in the Terminal window on each device: sudo ./uninstall_chrome_ext remove_all
