Update Agent for Windows (Beta)

Aternity customers can easily update the Agent on PC on a large number of devices remotely using administration screens of the Aternity console.

Note

This procedure applies only to Windows end-user devices with Agent 12.2.0 and later.

Allow access to the following URL addresses that Agent needs to connect (add these addresses to your firewall white list):

To reduce the load on the network when downloading the new Agent setup package, you can create a local copy of the package on a proxy server, so that the setup package is being downloaded from a server within the organization network and not from Amazon AWS. The new package is located on https://s3.amazonaws.com/aternity-saas-static.aternity.com/updater-public-packages/windows/agent/<build_number>/Aternity_Agent_<build_number>.msi

When you update your Agent, you can simply overwrite the older one, with no need to uninstall the older one or download the newer one.
Update remotely your Agents
Note

Agent versions below 12.2.0 should be deployed as described in the deployment guides for a single device setup or mass deployment. Use the Agent Deployment administration screen in the Aternity console to download the necessary version.

Procedure

  1. Step 1 Open a browser and sign in to Aternity.
  2. Step 2 Go to the Gear Icon > Agent Deployment.
  3. Step 3 Select the Update Settings tab.

    This tab is visible only on devices with Agent 12.2.0 and later.

  4. Step 4 Select your target version and save the changes.

    All Agents will be updated to that target version. The Agents preserve all settings that were configured during the initial deployment.
