Analyze Aternity Data In-Depth

You can test your own troubleshooting theories by finding common threads (correlations) between an application's performance and two or more attributes. Alternatively, you can use the Analyze (Advanced) dashboards to completely customize your layout from a blank canvas, for the ultimate flexibility to display complex correlations between as many attributes as you need.

Analyze data more flexibly

Aternity offers a number of Analyze dashboards:

  • Use the Analyze Applications dashboard to investigate your own theories by finding a correlation between the health, usage and performance of any application (including discovered applications with no defined activities). This is actually several dashboards in one, where each displays different values of performance as its columns. Choose the dashboard to displays the columns you need, to suit your particular investigation.

  • With the Analyze Activity Performance dashboard, you can test your own troubleshooting theories by finding a correlation between the performance of a managed application's activities and any two attributes of the system, and then narrow down the data further. See the Analyze Activity Performance dashboard.

  • With the Analyze Activity Trends dashboard, you can test your own troubleshooting theories by stepping back and viewing the larger picture of activity performance over the timeframe, comparing different values of one attribute over that time, and then narrow down the data further. See the Analyze Activity Trends dashboard.

  • Application Owners can use the Analyze Activity Volume dashboard to view an application's usage patterns, where it is used, why and by whom. For upgrades or new deployments, you can show its adoption, or compare the productivity between different locations. When you understand the usage patterns and volumes, you can better plan for future releases, by investing in the most popular aspects of the application. See the Analyze Activity Volume dashboard.

  • With the Analyze Activity Traffic dashboard, you can test your own troubleshooting theories by finding a correlation between the detailed response times for any two attributes of the system, and then narrow down the data further. See the Analyze Activity Traffic dashboard.

  • With the Analyze Costly Activities dashboard, you can plan future decisions by viewing the cost impact of different attributes. See the Analyze Costly Activities dashboard.
