What's New in Aternity SaaS November 2020

Aternity SaaS undergoes regular updates every few weeks, bringing you enhanced features, new functionality and updated dashboards.

This section lists the latest updates to Aternity SaaS. Alternatively, you can view the previous updates to Aternity.

Dashboard Enhancements

Aternity enhances data analysis on a regular basis to provide more value.
  • Aternity improved the performance of the advanced dashboards to provide you with a much better experience while building dashboards.

  • In advanced views, dimension and measure fields are now grouped together in folders what makes relevant information more visible and easily accessible.

  • Integrate and use a direct link to the IT Service Desk dashboard from external systems.

    Note
    You can easily embed a web link from your system to Aternity and access this dashboard directly from an external system. Create a reference link to Aternity and get the IT Service Desk dashboard. Use the external URL of the form {system base url}/api/ui-link/account/{account id}/device/name/{device name}/servicedesk. For example, https://my-demo.aternity.com/api/ui-link/account/3/device/name/adam_covert_wks/servicedesk. Enter the below parameters to create your direct link:
    • System Base URL:

      Add your Aternity URL.

    • Account ID:

      Enter the account ID for your Aternity. You can find this in the URL when you access Aternity, where the last few characters are ?BACCT=21, where the value (in this example 21) is your account ID.

    • Device Name/User Name:

      Enter the device or the user name to whom you want to connect.

  • Aternity for ServiceNow new application includes the link directly to the IT Service Desk dashboard of the alerted device.

NOC - autoupdate (Beta)

The new NOC - autoupdate (Beta) dashboard automatically refreshes every couple of minutes and presents live status of the performance of applications and devices in your organization. Now it is easy to monitor applications on the wall screens.

This new NOC view automatically updates to give you a real-time view of the performance for your most important applications and business locations. At a glance, you can see the Apdex-inspired score and activity volume for your worst performing and most used applications and locations. The NOC shows the current performance as well as the performance for the last hour and the full day, so you know whether a problem is new or existing.

REST API Updates

REST APIs provide a great deal of flexibility. Aternity releases new APIs on a constant basis and enriches existing APIs with more and more attributes for enhanced analysis.

  • View user login details with the new Account_User_Details REST API (learn more).

  • Analyze device scores with the Device_Inventory REST API (learn more).

Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams Integration Enhancements include the following:
  • Aternity integration with the Microsoft Teams allows monitoring both calls and scheduled meetings.

  • Analyze user's experience using the audio and video quality scores.

Additional Enhancements

  • Aternity Agent for End User Devices 12.0.6 has been released for general availability (GA). Learn more.

  • Aternity Activity Designer 12.1 is now available for download from the Agent Download screen.

  • From now you can define by yourself how often to get the Insights digest email.

  • View Basic Dashboards role allows users to view but not edit dashboards and incidents in Aternity.

  • Select by yourself what source will populate the Department, Office, and Title fields: either pull data from Active Directory or from a CSV file.

  • Aternity made changes that allow you to fit more text in a message for end user confirmation when adding remediation actions to Aternity. Now the maximum number of characters allowed for the header text is 100 and the maximum number of characters allowed for the question text is 300.
