New Integrations with Riverbed Products

Aternity on-premise v11 integrates with other Riverbed solutions, such as:
  • SteelCentral AppInternals™ allowing to toggle between Aternity and AppInternals displays

  • SteelCentral NetProfiler™ for troubleshooting network problems

  • SteelCentral Portal™ for viewing Aternity's data in the portal

  • Riverbed Xirrus™ for troubleshooting WiFi access points

  • SteelCentral AppResponse™ for Citrix Monitoring

In the below table only new in v11 integrations are detailed.

Integration Description
AppInternals Integration Improvements for App Server Monitoring

Troubleshoot a long backend time (part of a slow response time) of a user's activity, by drilling down from the activity into SteelCentral AppInternals™. In AppInternals you can trace an activity's call (AppInternals transaction) to the server as it crosses the server-side components, and follow it across the backend components. If the activity makes two calls to the same server, or to two different servers, you can drill down from this activity to trace two separate transactions.

Updates to the AppInternals integration with Aternity include:

  • Quickly toggle between Aternity and AppInternals displays.

Easily switch from Aternity to AppInternals
AppResponse Integration for Citrix Monitoring

With Agent 11, you can monitor all sessions of a Citrix application server with a new dedicated dashboard called Troubleshoot Citrix Virtual Application Server.

Drill down from Aternity Troubleshoot Virtual Desktop dashboard into AppResponse Citrix Insight to provide end-to-end visibility for the server’s behavior, performance, network traffic, etc.

Agent for End User Devices v11 Adds More Monitoring

The Agent for End User Devices monitors end user experience by measuring device and application performance. It is a small background utility which runs on each monitored device, and reports its data to the Aternity Aggregation Server.

With Agent v11, you can:

  • Drill down from Aternity Troubleshoot Virtual Desktop dashboard into AppResponse Citrix Insight to provide end-to-end visibility for the server’s behavior, performance, network traffic, etc.

Monitor all sessions of a Citrix application server with a new dedicated dashboard called Troubleshoot Citrix Virtual Application Server.

  • Report IPv6 addresses properly for devices on an IPv6 network.

  • Monitor the I/O of any managed application whenever it runs on a device. Until now, Aternity only monitored the I/O per device as a whole, or during an activity.

You can see this in Analyze Process Resources and Activity Resource Analysis when your monitored devices run Agent 11 or later.

Aternity On-premise v11 New Architecture

Aternity v11 has been designed to be a more scalable and easy to install system with more powerful servers which can now monitor more end points.

Aternity v11 introduces a new Docker Components server. The Aternity Docker Components Server is one of the Aternity on-premise components containing a range of containers which add functionality to Aternity. Most components are mandatory, but you can choose to add or omit some of those Docker containers from your deployment. The containers (components) are completely isolated from each other. The Docker Components server allows a single installation for all containers and makes the system easy-to-install.
